Editorial policy
Inspired Regional News aims to make regional geography clear, curious and dependable. We distinguish established information from interpretation, explain the scope of a claim and correct meaningful errors openly.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against suitable sources and take care with names, dates, map details and definitions. Maps and boundaries can reflect different purposes or periods, so articles should say what a map represents when that distinction matters. We avoid presenting a local example as if it describes every region.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to secure favourable coverage for a partner. A partnership does not buy a particular conclusion, review or editorial recommendation. Potential conflicts relevant to a story should be made clear to readers.
Corrections
Readers can report an error through the Contact page. Please identify the article and passage and explain the concern. We review correction requests, update confirmed errors and make the nature of a significant correction clear in the affected article.
Partner material and illustrations
Material created with a partner, or carrying a partner placement, is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where relevant, the illustration is identified as such and is not presented as documentary evidence.
A region is more than a label on a map.
Its character comes into view through its landscape, names, boundaries and connections. We take those details one at a time.
